David Pilsbury

 David Pilsbury is Chief Development Officer for Oxford International, where he is responsible for leading the company’s higher education growth and development. He sits on the boards of JISC (UK HE’s Joint Information Systems Committee), China Britain Business Council, Times Higher Education, StudyPortals, EURIE, Emirates Aviation University and Macao Millenium College. He is a member of the UK International Higher Education Commission (IHEC).
He was Deputy Vice Chancellor, International at Coventry University from 2008 to 2021, where he was responsible for all international activities and led Coventry’s international transformation to become the UK’s third largest recruiter of overseas students; the UK’s largest provider of Transnational Education (TNE) programmes overseas; and host to the world’s largest global enhancement programme which was ranked 1st in the UK for outbound mobility for six years running.
David designed and developed the Coventry University London Campus, the first and still the most successful London Campus of a regional University, and Coventry’s joint campus with the Communication University of China in Hainan. He has won many awards including a Queen’s Award for Enterprise, EAIE’s premiere award and is a VTC Honorary Fellow. He was previously Co-chair of the UUK International Pro-Vice Chancellors Network.
Pilsbury was founding CEO of the Worldwide Universities Network, was Head of Research Policy at the Higher Education Funding Council for England and spent several years in the City after a D.Phil at Oxford.
