Glynne Stanfield
Glynne was a Partner at Eversheds Sutherland, one of the world’s leading international law firms, where he headed the firm’s international and governance teams. During his 25 years as a partner, he advised on many of the higher education sector’s landmark transactions including the creation of new higher education institutions, regulatory reform and the development of international branch campuses. His expertise has shaped some of the sector’s most significant innovations, including the establishment of new medical and veterinary schools, group university structures, and international research institutes.
Recognised for many years in both Chambers and Legal 500 as a leading solicitor in education, Glynne has also acted for key sector bodies including the legal work in setting up the Office of the Independent Adjudicator for Higher Education (OIA), the Quality Assurance Agency, the Francis Crick Institute, The Alan Turing Institute and the Russell Group, which he helped to establish as a company.
His insight and long-standing involvement with Oxford International span many years, allowing him a deep understanding of how the company works.
Glynne is a solicitor (England & Wales and Northern Ireland) and a registered foreign lawyer (Scotland and the Republic of Ireland). He holds an MA in Law from the University of Oxford and is currently completing a Doctorate in Business Administration (Higher Education Management) at the University of Bath.
He is a member of the Court of the Worshipful Company of Educators (one of the City of London’s livery companies).
