A year at Oxford International
The Company
Founded in 1991, Oxford International Education Group helps students worldwide achieve academic success through life-enhancing educational experiences. As we head towards our 30th anniversary in 2021, we now provide education to 50,000 UK and international students every year across our independent boarding schools, international colleges and English language centres through face-to-face and online programmes.
Covid-19 challenges to education
Earlier this year, the education sector was, like many other industries, heavily impacted by Covid-19. Over the past few months, we have risen to this global challenge and adapted our education offering. We have developed new products as well as improving upon our existing portfolio, leveraging our 29 years of experience in English language teaching and our ability to innovate and react to changing market conditions at speed.
We have connected students from across the globe with our online programmes, ensuring they can continue their academic journey with limited disruption. The swift launch and development of these programmes displays our staff’s entrepreneurial spirit and passion for delivering the best quality educational experiences that the company was founded on. As a team we have come together, supported each other through difficult times and are ready to move into 2021 stronger together.
This year alone we have launched a new vision and mission, announced a new partnership with Jacobs University in Germany and navigated an unstable global environment by developing a range of online programmes that now sit within OI Digital Institute. We are proud to have seen over 3,000 students through their English Language Level Test, an online alternative to IELTS that we introduced earlier this year.
The future
Our student’s happiness and success are at the heart of everything we do. This is reflected in our excellent student satisfaction rate across our divisions, including 99% for our English language schools. These new innovations and our core work will continue to thrive as we embrace the future with our passionate, creative and dedicated colleagues and business partners. It is with much gratitude and appreciation that we reflect on the last year and all the challenges and learnings that have come with it. Although 2020 may not have been the year we were expecting, we are looking forward to seeing what 2021 will have in store for us as a business and are optimistic for the future.
