At Oxford International, our commitment to creating life-enhancing experiences extends beyond education. Through Momentum, our global corporate social responsibility programme, colleagues are encouraged to support community partners and contribute their time, skills and energy to causes that matter locally.
Guided by the principle of Local Action, Global Impact, Momentum brings our teams together to make a tangible difference in the communities where we live and work.
Over the past year, colleagues across India have worked with purpose-driven NGOs and community organisations on initiatives supporting children, education, community wellbeing and local development. From transforming learning spaces and collecting essential food supplies to cleaning a Mumbai beach and helping fulfil the wishes of critically ill children, each activity has brought our CARE value to life through action.
Creating brighter spaces for children
In October 2025, four Oxford International colleagues took part in an Artshala initiative organised in partnership with ConnectFor.
The volunteers helped transform a school into a brighter and more welcoming place by painting classrooms, including a kindergarten classroom. Through colour and creativity, the team helped create a more positive learning environment for the children while contributing directly to the local community.
Coming together to support local communities
During the festive season, colleagues across Oxford International in India came together for a Christmas giving drive in partnership with Snehasadan in Mumbai.
A total of 216 team members contributed to the initiative, collecting and collating 537 kg of non-perishable food supplies. The donations, which included cereals, pulses and tea, were distributed to local NGOs supporting underprivileged communities.
The drive demonstrated what can be achieved when individual contributions become a collective effort, turning the generosity of colleagues into practical support for people in need.
Taking action for the local environment
In June 2026, nearly 50 volunteers participated in a beach cleaning drive organised with ConnectFor in Mumbai.
The initiative gave colleagues an opportunity to work together outside their day-to-day roles while contributing to environmental sustainability in their local community. Oxford International’s volunteers were recognised by ConnectFor with the Best Team Performance Award for their contribution and collective effort.
Helping to fulfil 100 wishes
Between January and July 2026, Oxford International collaborated with Make-A-Wish India to support 100 critically ill children receiving treatment through 17 hospitals and care partners. The children came from 10 states across India, with wishes delivered through hospitals and care organisations in Mumbai, Delhi, Varanasi, Kolkata and other locations.
Of the 100 children supported, 72 were undergoing cancer treatment. Many of their wishes focused on staying connected with their families and continuing their education during treatment, including requests for laptops, phones and tablets. Other wishes reflected deeply personal ambitions, from meeting a chess grandmaster to experiencing the role of a doctor.
Forty-two of the wishes were delivered through Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai. Together, the 100 wishes created individual moments of joy, encouragement and hope for children and their families during extremely challenging circumstances.
Jo Grendall, Chief People Officer at Oxford International, said:
“At Oxford International, our commitment to making a difference goes beyond education. We believe that meaningful change happens when people come together around causes that matter. Through our CSR efforts and Momentum, we are creating opportunities for our colleagues to contribute, collaborate with community partners and help build stronger, more connected communities.”
Local Action Global Impact
These initiatives reflect the dedication of colleagues across India and the strength of Oxford International’s relationships with its community partners. They also contribute to our broader support for social wellbeing, inclusion, education and community development, aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
By working alongside organisations with strong local knowledge and creating meaningful opportunities for colleagues to participate, Momentum enables our teams to support the causes and communities closest to them.
Each activity may be local, but together they demonstrate the wider impact that collective action can have.
