Oxford International Group CEO Lil Bremermann-Richard has received the Outstanding Contribution to the Industry award at The PIEoneer Awards 2026.

Presented at the 10th anniversary of awards at London’s historic Guildhall, the accolade recognises Lil’s transformative impact across more than two decades in international education.

The annual awards celebrate innovation and achievement across the global education sector. This year, winners were recognised across 21 categories, with an international judging panel seeking out the individuals and organisations redefining excellence and driving progress in education.

The PIE recognised Lil for her boundary-pushing career spanning more than two decades as a leading figure in international education.

Commenting on the award, Lil said:

“It is an enormous honour to receive this recognition, particularly as The PIEoneer Awards celebrate their 10th anniversary. No career is shaped by one person alone, and I have been fortunate to work alongside so many talented and dedicated colleagues and partners throughout mine. I am incredibly grateful to everyone who has shared this journey and continues to make a difference for students around the world.”

Creating pathways to education around the world.

Since becoming Group CEO of Oxford International in 2019, Lil has led a period of significant transformation and global growth. Oxford International has now supported over 580,000 students from more than 100 countries in pursuing their educational ambitions.

Under Lil’s leadership, Oxford International has continued to develop new ways for students to access high-quality international education. This includes pioneering transnational education models and expanding digital and in-country learning opportunities focused on academic excellence and employability.

These approaches are creating more flexible and accessible pathways for students, enabling them to benefit from an international education in ways that reflect their individual circumstances, ambitions and career goals.

Lil’s leadership combines a clear global vision with a strong understanding of the needs of students, partners and the wider international education sector. Her focus has remained firmly on ensuring that growth and innovation translate into meaningful outcomes for learners.

Leadership informed by personal experience.

Having once been an international student herself, Lil brings a deeply personal understanding of the ambition, courage and support behind every student journey.

That experience has shaped her student-centred approach to leadership and her belief that learners should feel welcomed, supported and empowered throughout their education. It has also reinforced her commitment to breaking down barriers and creating opportunities for students from different countries and backgrounds.

Throughout her career, Lil has demonstrated the resilience and adaptability needed to lead through considerable change in international education. She has continued to look ahead, embrace new models and encourage collaboration across borders, ensuring Oxford International remains responsive to the evolving needs of students and partners.

Championing a more inclusive sector

Lil’s contribution extends beyond Oxford International. She is a committed mentor and advocate for women in leadership, using her experience to support others and encourage greater representation and progression across the sector.

Through mentoring, public speaking and her wider engagement with the international education community, Lil has helped promote a more inclusive, resilient and globally connected industry.

Receiving the Outstanding Contribution to the Industry award is a fitting recognition of the lasting impact Lil has made on students, colleagues, partners and the wider international education community.

Congratulations, Lil, on this thoroughly deserved achievement – and thank you for continuing to inspire colleagues, partners and students across our global community.
