Oxford International and BIMM University have announced a new strategic partnership designed to expand access for international students to study at BIMM University.

The partnership brings together BIMM University’s expertise in creative education and industry connections with Oxford International’s experience in international education, making its distinctive approach to creative education more accessible to students looking to study in the UK and pursue global careers in the creative industries.

Responding to a changing global creative economy

The UK has an internationally recognised position in music, film, performance and the wider creative economy. As technology continues to reshape the sector, there is growing demand for people who can combine creative expertise with technical and commercial skills.

The partnership responds to this changing landscape by bringing together technology, business and creative practice to prepare students for careers across the creative industries.

BIMM University has 40 years’ experience equipping students with the knowledge, practical experience and professional connections needed to build careers in the creative sector. Today, it is home to more than 8,000 students from 60 countries across five specialist schools: BIMM Music Institute, MetFilm School, Performers College, MetStudios and Northern Ballet School.

Through the new partnership, Oxford International will bring its global recruitment network and market expertise to BIMM University’s specialist proposition, helping it connect with new audiences and build sustainable international growth.

Olivier Robert-Murphy, CEO and Vice-Chancellor of BIMM University, said:

“We believe higher education should give students the opportunity to apply what they learn in a practical setting, preparing them for the careers they want to build. At BIMM University, that means making sure our students leave with a strong creative foundation, alongside the technical and business skills they need to progress professionally.”

“Oxford International shares our ambition to make BIMM University’s approach to creative education available to more students around the world. This partnership allows us to strengthen what we already do well while developing new programmes that reflect the changing needs of the creative industries.”

Lil Bremermann-Richard, Group CEO of Oxford International, said:

“The international education market is becoming more competitive, and students are increasingly looking for institutions that offer a genuinely distinctive and relevant educational experience, closely aligned with future career opportunities and responsive to the rapid development of AI.”

“BIMM University occupies a compelling position at the intersection of education and the UK’s globally recognised creative industries. By combining that strength with Oxford International’s international reach and market expertise, we have an opportunity to build sustainable global growth around a proposition with real relevance for the next generation of creative professionals.

“We see this as a long-term strategic partnership with significant potential to develop as the needs of students, universities and the creative economy continue to evolve.”
